Pelabuhan Ratu: The forgotten paradise (The view)

My wife @tamarafauri and I decided to go with my brother @ambifauri and cousin @debonia to Pelabuhan Ratu, which Ambi and Debbie visits quite often. Hearing their stories and seeing their pictures, we were intrigued to come along. It's been ages since the last time I went there so I guess why the hell not?

Turns out it was a time of a lifetime!

Just look at the view from our hotel room terrace:

About an hour drive from Pelabuhan Ratu, Bayah is like an untouched beach. Hell, we were the only people on that beach... Far as I know.

The sand?

White and soft! It's a paradise!

After Jakarta earthquake: Moving to a landed house

The earthquake in Jakarta a while a go did affect my family, indeed. We live in an apartment on the 20th floor, and the earthquake happened while my wife and kids were in the apartment. They had to ran down the stairs, and they could still feel the shakes while running down the escape stairs. Now my 8 years old daughter refused to come back to our apartment. So we decided to rent a landed house.

After_Jakarta_earthquake_Movin.zip (938 KB)

It's in Puri Cinere, which is about 3KM from where we live now.
I've always wanted to live in a house instead of an apartment, which my wife prefers.

So what do you think, is the house looks well enough?
Should we rent it?

De Leuit - Sensasi Nasi Jambal

Oh, heaven yes!
It was indeed, sensational. Now that was a delightful dinner.

We are staying at my wife's parents' house in Sentul City, Bogor and wanted to find something to eat.
My wife (@tamarafauri) got information about this restaurant, De'Leuit (pronounced: De Leyit) from a telly show, so we went there.

IT WAS MARVELOUS!

De_Leuit_-_Sensasi_Nasi_Jambal.zip (1590 KB)

The place is somewhat okay, there was nothing to complain about. It's a big restaurant, a combination of modern and Sundanesse interiors.
We sat outside, just across of the children playground, which was a clever decision so the kids could play and still on our sight.

We ordered Nasi Jambal (their special menu), Nasi putih, Gurame goreng, Udang goreng mentega, Bihun goreng and Baby kailan for totally IDR 230,000/-

I specially loved the Nasi Jambal, Gurame goreng and Udang goreng mentega.

I recommend you to come and have a visit the next time you're around Bogor. Here's the address:
Jl. Pajajaran No.69, Bogor.

If you're driving through the toll, turn left after the exit. Just go straight up and you'll find the resto on your left.

Enjoy!

Q Smoke House - Meh!

Q_Smoke_House_-_Meh_tag_iPhone.zip (935 KB)

So we decided to go to this restaurant called Q Smoke House located on the Panglima Polim area. It's a steak house so I was pretty excited.

The minute I walked in, I was amazed by the interior. It's nice and comfortable and it instantly rises up my appetite.

As for the food?
I ordered rib-eye and sirloin for my wife.
The rib eye was alright, not good, just a little bit BELOW okay.
Sirloin? My wife tossed it out after the first bite. Not only did the steak felt like those famous Swallow sandals, it tastes like feet.

I'd give 6 out of 10 for the ambience, 3 for the rib-eye and -3000 (yes, that's MINUS three thousand) for the sirloin.

'nuff said.

This is definitely one of the best, unique restaurant in Jakarta. Its diner concept certainly bring new breeze to J-Town. Love the ambience, love the food and staffs are all really friendly.

I came here a few times and will surely coming back for more. Next time you're in CiTos (that's Cilandak Town Square), make sure to try this amazing restaurant owned by the Kamerons. You'll find out that I'm totally right!

Bazaar Art Jakarta, One Pacific Place.

Bazaar_Art_Jakarta_Pacific_Pla.zip (2160 KB)

This is nice. One Pacific Place Mall -located on the SCBD area- is displaying arts throughout the mall. Everywhere you go around the mall, you'd see art works. Some are good and some others are..... not that good (let's not be cruel here).

Whatever the art represents, it is nice to see these creative hand-made arts. Great job, Pacific Place! I didn't have that much of a time to actually look and capture all the art work, but you can see some of them here. What do you think?

A compilation out of a busy week

Oh how I have been quite busy lately. It kinda' make me a bit restless because I do have a lot of ideas to write. Anyways, time is just not on my side yet. So here's a compilation of what's goin' on around me.

A_compilation_of_a_busy_week_t.zip (266 KB)

So some developer decided to start building something on the empty yard next to our apartment. Sadly, it is just right out of my bedroom's balcony. Just imagine how noisy and dusty this place would be when they started to do heavy work! I really wish that they aren't going to build tall buildings, but to build a playground for the kids instead..

Sounds delusional?
Told ya' I was really busy. I need my sanity back...

Here's another thing that I have found quite fascinating.
My Mom, who was an all-time runner up on the race of technology, asked me to get her a BlackBerry. So I did. What's then more fascinating..... is that she's  actually (now) pretty good at it. Although if you do have her BB Pin or IM Account, you might want to buzz her over and over again to get her attention!

Last (but certainly not least), here is a photo of a self-painted-pink-and-a-bit-of-blue bike I captured in my friend's house.
Judge as you like... I ain't commenting on this one..

Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta

Terminal_3_Soekarno-Hatta.zip (499 KB)

It's nice to have finally see the new Terminal 3 at our very own Soekarno-Hatta airport.
A bit late, I know. But I'm happy that there is something to be proud of.

The terminal is being used exclusively for Air Asia and Mandala.
I hope the other two terminals will be renovated as well, because this one is absolutely gorgeous!

Oh, have I mentioned that it is safe?
It's safe!!

So come and stop by to our beautiful country, my friends!
