Pelabuhan Ratu: The forgotten paradise (The view)

My wife @tamarafauri and I decided to go with my brother @ambifauri and cousin @debonia to Pelabuhan Ratu, which Ambi and Debbie visits quite often. Hearing their stories and seeing their pictures, we were intrigued to come along. It's been ages since the last time I went there so I guess why the hell not?

Turns out it was a time of a lifetime!

Just look at the view from our hotel room terrace:

And here it is, the best of all.... Bayah beach.
About an hour drive from Pelabuhan Ratu, Bayah is like an untouched beach. Hell, we were the only people on that beach... Far as I know.

The sand?

White and soft! It's a paradise!

We stayed there to see the sunset. And it was so beautiful..

And here's another beach not so far away from our hotel, which is also magnificent!

And of course, we went to see the famous Nyai Roro Kidul's grave, on some rock-face with a beautiful outlook of the sea

What do you think?
Do you like what you see?

Expect a follow-up post after this, which I will show you pictures of the fun we had while we were there.
Watch closely!

Big catch by the Indonesian Customs

Customs and excise office at Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Tangerang said Wednesday they had foiled an attempt by a Malaysian national to smuggle into the country crystal methamphetamine worth Rp 1 billion (US$106,000) from Hong Kong.

And last week they foiled an 8 billion worth of methamphetamine smuggling attempt by a local guy coming from Penang, Malaysia.

It's good to know they are doing their job.
Congratulations!

Unleashing Indonesians potentials

"
via Koran Tempo, Selasa 18 Agustus 2009 (Edisi Kemerdekaan)

Indonesia is full of talented people. I cannot say more about how little our government is laying eyes on these potentials, and why aren't they support these talents, simply because I do not have the answer.

What I do know, and I do noticed, and I am convinced is that the fact that Indonesia has enormous amount of great, smart, talented and dedicated people who are capable of doing amazing things. When will the government takes place of this unleashed potentials? Or should we depend on them to have it unleashed?

Can we just do it by our own by supporting one another: the greats helping others to become great, successful people reaching out to those who are still trying to find their ways, the famous to share their network?

 Can we do this?

 Shall we do it?
